The site in the 1850's was where the discovery of gold in Australia was confirmed and this led to the famous Gold Rush period in Australian history.

Bathurst owes a lot of its famous buildings to the prosperity that followed the discovery of this precious metal.



In the middle of the 19th Century bushrangers such as Ben Hall roamed the streets and held up the shops next door.

However, now the only disturbance you could have would be if ghosts from the past wander along the hallways on their way to meet up with old friends.
